New York Drink

On Thursday, June 16, UCU and Roosevelt Academy students and alums gathered in Lower Manhattan to admire the sunset over a beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the East River. A group of nearly 20 students was visiting New York for their summer course in Urban Geography, accompanied by UCU’s Dean Rob van der Vaart and Professor Jan van Weesep. Besides connecting with alums about their lives and careers in the Big Apple, the students also got to explore one of New York City’s famous man-made beaches and traditional American cuisine of burgers and hot dogs. New York City is currently home to a diverse and growing body of UCU alums in different professions, ranging from hospitality to United Nations to graduate school.

End-of-Term Oxford Drink

On 28 June during the last week of the academic year, the regional UCAA representative in Oxford organized a drink for all UC alumni currently in Oxford. Almost 10 former UC-ers were still in Oxford and attended the drink in the city’s famous pub, the Turf Tavern. UCAA Oxford is looking forward to welcoming many new alumni in the new academic year. To stay up-to-date on what UCU alumni in Oxford are up to, feel free to join the UCAA Oxford Facebook group.
