Pilot Project: Fall Break To Your Future

We have a new exciting pilot project running! We want to offer UCU students the chance to discover the cities and universities where they might want to pursue their studies, together with our alumni. The idea is that you, as an alumnus/alumna, can show the student around the city and the university, let him/her crash on your couch, give helpful advice, etc. Read more about the project here, and if you would like to participate (yesyesyes!) please contact Roeland at info@ucaa.nl!

UCAA and McGill alumni join each other at The Hague drink

As June was starting to peek around the corner, another UCAA drink was organized on a beautiful sunny day in The Hague, by regional representative Gergana Yancheva. It happened that the McGill The Netherlands alumni drink was occurring at the very same time and place. Gergana: “We ended up sharing a drink and discussing intercontinental alumni stuff.. :) It was fun!”

For photos of the evening, please see the gallery below. Want to join the next time? Join the UCAA group(s) on Facebook, register with the UCAA to receive the Newsletter and check back here regularly to stay informed on the latest events!

Great kicks and burgers at the World Cup Revisited 2012!

We wanted to reinstate the football tournament that was organized every year by SportsCo, back in the day. A sportive reason for alumni to come back to campus and enjoy some healthy competition. So on Saturday the 23rd of June the freshly paved pitch of UC campus was stepped upon by ‘old’ feet. Eight teams signed up and competed for the big (it was pretty big!) prize. At the end of the day, the BBQ was started and lots of burgers were turned. And the winner of the big final was…. the Cookie Crumblers! Congrats once again. And a big thank you to the alumni who organized this big event: Jeroen, Guillaume, Laurens, and Roeland!

Check out the video for an impression of this wonderful day!

UCAA Newsletter September 2010

Dear alumni,

As most of you are returning to your jobs or colleges after the summer holidays, the UCAA has also switched back into full gear, working hard to bring you a new academic year filled with fun and stimulating events.

Keeping with the last newsletter’s theme of changes within the UCAA, you may have noticed the new design of the newsletter you’re reading. We hope it’s to your liking and readable in all different e-mail programs (if not you can always click the online version).

Another change we are very happy to announce is that Sarah Carmichael (class of ’06) has joined the UCAA Board as your new treasurer. Though we are sad to say goodbye to Mark Ruitenbeek (class of ’07) and the excellent work he’s done for the Board and Career Conference these past years, we are glad to have found such a great replacement in Sarah and are excited to be working with her.

Lastly, as you may have noticed, we sent our annual alumni magazine, the Quaquaversal, out to the addresses you have listed on UCUniverse.com. If, for some reason, you did not receive this year’s magazine, please check whether your listed address is still correct (and change it if it’s not), send us an e-mail at info@ucaa.nl and we’ll make sure you still get a copy.

 Sincerely yours,

The UCAA Board
